Biodynamics conference 2017 speaker Andy Black

Conference 2017: Andy Black

10 April 2017/in Past Events

There’s very little Hawke’s Bay resident and 2017 conference speaker Andy Black doesn’t know about growing veges and herbs. He’s also an expert at growing under glass. Here’s what Andy has to say about his background and what he intends to share at this year’s conference:

After decades of experience in field-scale biodynamic vegetable and herb growing I was offered a very different contract in 2009 : to establish a commercial greenhouse in the middle of a long-established biodynamic farm.

It was like working in a desert and I had to modify most of my growing methods to protect the soils. Accompanied by many slides, I will share what was learnt over these years—all of which will be useful in greenhouses of any size.
