Nourish to Flourish: Counting Down to Launch!

Our pilot biodynamic education programme Nourish to Flourish launches in less than a month and hopes are high for a stellar success.

The combined online and practical workshop programme is the result of a unique partnership between the New Zealand Biodynamic Association and UK-based online education providers, the Biodynamic Agricultural College.

Searching the world for the best fit

N2F course coordinator Andy Black spent two months researching online and on-the-ground biodynamic, and organic agricultural courses around the world.

“ Altogether, [I covered] most English-speaking countries and I looked closely at anything that was happening that was available to us,” he says.

He compiled a short-list of recommendations that included several courses in America and one in Holland but the BDAC course stood out because it combined online material with live seminars.

“It was also easy to package, it was a one-off. . . [and} I felt it was possible for it to be paired up with something practical here,” he says.

Global thinking, local action

That practical component caps the online course at both ends with specially-tailored weekend workshops showing people how to put what they’re learning into practice, in New Zealand conditions.

Workshop presenters Rachel Pomeroy and Jen Speedy are familiar with the online course content and designed their programme to work in with it. They’ll also be able to answer any questions people may have from the online lessons.

For Andy, Nourish to Flourish represents a new approach to education in biodynamics—one that offers people the chance to learn in a truly global context. He’s hopeful that this initiative and partnership across the world will be transformative for everyone taking part.
